About isofei
isofei is more than just a name — it’s a reminder to myself.
iso stands for in search of, while fei comes from my given name 輝. Together they form isofei, a reminder to keep exploring while staying connected to where I began.
ISO is also a familiar term in photography — a measure of light sensitivity — making the name even more meaningful to me.
Hi, I'm Jeff Liang
My first encounter with photography was when my father handed me his twin-lens reflex camera back in the film days. For years, photography was just a casual pastime — something I really enjoyed, but didn't fully explore.
Over the years, in the back of my mind, I always wondered: what if I took the craft seriously? That led me to enrol in a short course at Photography Studies College (PSC) to learn more about it. I really enjoyed it and went on to complete the Advanced Diploma of Photography at PSC in 2023.
Today, photography means many things to me. I believe one reason I keep coming back to it is the invisible bond between my father and me. It’s also a creative outlet and a way to slow down — giving me space to explore and experiment with lighting, colour and new ways of telling visual stories.
